News: 212-Crore Annual Plan Approved by the Coconut Development Board for 2019-20

The Modi-led Central Government has approved the annual action plan of the Coconut Development Board (CDB) which has proportioned a budget of 212 crores for 2019-2020. The Board has also approved the allocation of funds to several states. Odisha became the biggest beneficiary, with 29.6 crores, as the state was completely devastated by the recent Cyclone ‘Fani’. For the region to fully recover, it will take up an extensive area expansion program and also promote value addition to coconuts. The board also laid out plans for making quality planting material.
